Type 1: Open Chat

In this case, all users are entered as guest and all usernames are open at all times, unless someone in the room is currently using the name.

Type 2: Membership/Open Guest

If Guest login is enabled, you will be able to login to the chat as guest as long as the username is not taken by a registered member or the username is not in use by anyone else in the chatroom.

Type 3:  Membership Only

In the case, only the registered users can enter the chatroom. The guest account has been disabled!

Once we've confirmed your identity, we'll send your ID to the alternate (non-Iraniha) email address listed on your account. If you need a new password, you can choose to either have your new password displayed on the page by answering your "Security Question," or you can have your new password sent to your alternate email address.

If you have entered any of this information incorrectly or have forgotten what you entered, we will not be able to remind you of your ID or send you a new password.

We provide Account Information links throughout our sites to allow you to change or update this information at any time.

Below is the information you need to enter to register. Please keep in mind the following when you try to register:

A. Please try to provide us with your accurate information. Although it's not necessary to tell the truth when registering, it does help us quit a bit in communication with you and use the statistics from the site to bring you a better and more features! And please keep in mind that we do not give away your information or sell it in any ways.

B. Although it's not necessary to complete the form, we urge you to fill out as many fields as you can. For simplicity, the only required fields are the ones with a red start next to them.

Username (nickname):  A nickname is a non-unique name that you can use throughout the site. It's the name you are known by. You can chat with this name, send and receive emails with this name and more. The following characters are permitted in a nickname:

-Alphabet ( A through Z )

-Numbers ( 0-9 )

-punctuation ( . ), but not at the beginning or the end of the name

-underscore ( _ ), but not at the beginning or the end of the name

Email:

In order to complete your registration for an account, you need to enter an alternate (non-Iraniha) email address. We use the alternate email address to send you information regarding your account, updates regarding the site, and a new password if you ever need one sent to you. We have found this to be an effective tool, especially if someone is having problems with their mail account.

However, if you don't currently have an email address, you can use your username@iraniha.com instead.

Please Note: If you don't enter an alternate email address for your account, you will only be able to receive a new password by providing the Secret Answer to the Security Question you entered during registration. If you forget the answer to your Security Question and do not have an alternate email address listed on your account, you will not be able to receive a new password.

Please note the correct format on an email address is one of the following:

someone@company.com

The incorrect formats that will not be allowed are:

- spaces in the email address, i.e. some one@company.com

- email address starting with www. i.e www.someone@company.com

- email address without the second part of the email (@company.com). i.e. someone

Please Note: For security reasons, please do supply a correct email address when you try to register. When you register for an account, an email is sent to you called Activation Email. You will find a link in this email. Just click on this link to come back to the site and login to verify your account. You will be sent 3 reminders to do this, before your account is automatically removed. You have up to 72 hours to activate your account, or it will be deleted.

Every so often we do test out database, and if we find your email address to no longer exist, we will delete your account. If you change your email address, make sure to come back to the site, and change it, or it will be deleted.

Users that do not log in to the site, for a period of more than 3 months, may be removed without any notice

If you use the Iraniha.com email account and do not login to the site for a period of more than 3 months, your account can be deleted.

Email Confirmation:

In order to minimize mistakes in choosing a email address, you are required to enter the email you chose twice, and they both have to match, once in the Email field and one in the Email Confirmation field.

Password:

A password is the key to your security. Anyone can see your username, but no one sees your password! It's the key that lets you login to your account. Please choose it wisely!

Your password can contain anything you desire, but a minimum of 3 characters are required. And your password can not be equal to your username!

Your password is CaSe SenSitivE

Please refrain from using passwords that are easy to guess, like 123456, or your last name, or the name of your pet.

A good password is one that's hard to guess, usually a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols, i.e TyI.R56S

Please note that you can always come back to the site and change your password, if you don't feel comfortable with the one you have chosen.

Password Confirmation:

In order to minimize mistakes in choosing a password, you are required to enter the password you chose twice, and they both have to match, once in the Password field and one in the Password Confirmation field.

Age:

Please enter your age. We use this information to verify that you are not a minor.

Birth date:

Please enter your birth date. We only use this information to verify that you are not a minor, and to send you a birthday wish and to wish you well you on the site (we do not show your birth year to any of the members if you choose to keep it private).

Security Question and Answer:

In order to be able to verify your identity in the future if needed we are asking you to choose a security question from the dropdown menu and answer it.

Salutation:

This merely helps us know if you are a male or female, or you would like to be referred to as using a different salutation such as a Doctor.

First Name: Your first name

Last Name: Your last name or your family name.

City: The city you live in. Please do not abbreviate it. For example, if you live in Tehran, write it just as is, not th, or teh, or any other abbreviations.

State: The state you live in. Please do not abbreviate it. For example, if you live in Tehran, write it just as is, not th, or teh, or any other abbreviations.

Country: The country you live in.

Editing/Creating An Alias

The only way to change your Username is to open a new account, but you can add new identities to your current ID and use these identities to chat or send and receive emails. Just click the "profile" link on the top of the page, and then click the "Edit Aliases" button.

An alias consists of a name and some information that you show to other chatters in the chatroom. When someone clicks "Who's Online," they can view the information you entered. You can create up to five separate identities. Before you enter Chat or at any time during chatting, you can edit your current alias or create a new one. The only mandatory field is the actual "name" -- all other information (such as occupation, sex, age, etc.) is optional.

Important: Do not reveal any information on your alias that you wouldn't want the world to know (phone numbers, address, etc.).

 

To Open Another Account

1. Go to the front page of Chat at http://ch.iraniha.com
2. Click on the Log Out link at the top of the page. This will take you back to the Login page.
3. Click on the "Register" button and follow the instructions to create a new account.

Note: If you have two accounts on one computer, you will need to click the "Log Out" link when you wish to switch between your accounts. This will take you back to the login page where you can enter your other ID and password.

Create an Alias (Coming soon)
To create a new alias, just click the "profile" link on the top of the page. Then click on the Aliases link. This page will list your ID and any aliases that you have already created. To make a new one, enter it in the space provided, and then save it. To edit the profiles you have created, simply click on the Edit link next to the alias you want to edit to change your information and save it. The only required field is the actual name of your alias, all other information is optional. Do not reveal any information on your profile that you wouldn't want a complete stranger to know (phone numbers, addresses, etc.).

Edit Alias Information
You can edit the profile information attached to an alias before you enter Chat or at any time while chatting.

To edit the profile, click the "add / change profile" link on the Welcome page. On the next screen, use the "Edit" link next to the alias you would like to edit. When you're done, use the "Click Here When Done" button. Then click the "Finished Editing" link to save your changes and return to Chat.

Delete an Alias
You can delete an alias you have created by checking the checkbox next to it and clicking on delete.

However, for security reasons, the administrator of the site has to approve or deny your request to delete an alias.

If you delete your alias by mistake, please email the administrator the site and let them know before the alias is deleted.
